Hook Gun
Grapple to an energized surface, or hook your partner.
- Danger! High Voltage at 2.2 percent is the energized surface.
- Now I’m Hooked at 36.3 percent is hooking your partner.
We Were Here Tomorrow gives each Explorer a different high-tech tool. The achievement text names two guns and a handful of corporate devices. The Hook Gun grapples. The Goop Gun coats or locks a partner. An experimental Norček prototype, and later an upgraded one, sits on its own plates. An access card is created rather than found. The walkie-talkie is the shared radio both players already need a microphone to use. Keep those jobs straight so you do not swap the grapple and the goop on the first split.
These devices have no damage number, ammo count, or upgrade tree. Go by the unlock line and how many players have it, and leave invented stats off the call. Danger! High Voltage is 2.2 percent and Now I’m Hooked is 36.3 percent, so hooking a partner is far more common than grappling to an energized surface. Goop Lookin’ is 39.2 percent and You’re Chatty for a Statue is 2.4 percent, so coating a partner is common and locking them in place is not.
The Hook Gun’s energized-surface grapple is Danger! High Voltage: “Use the Hook Gun to grapple to an Energized surface.” The partner hook is Now I’m Hooked: “Hooked your partner.” Those are different actions. One cares about the surface. The other cares about the person on the radio. If a ledge is live, say “energized” before you fire, because the rare plate is the surface, not the buddy shot. The common plate will usually pop once during a normal separation when someone gets pulled.
The Goop Gun’s common plate is Goop Lookin’, “Gooped your partner,” at 39.2 percent. The rare plate is You’re Chatty for a Statue, “Use the Goop Gun to lock your partner in place,” at 2.4 percent. Coating someone and freezing them are both in the text, and only the lock is rare. If your partner is still talking and moving, you have the common goop, not the statue. Say which result you see. That is the whole gun split: two guns, four achievement lines, and no fifth mode.
’Morrow’s Miracles, 77.1 percent, is “Obtained an experimental Norček prototype.” Double Time, 6.3 percent, is “Obtained an upgraded Norček prototype.” The upgrade is not a second copy of the first pickup. Most pairs who see the experimental device never get the upgrade. Micromanagement, 79.2 percent, is “Created a brand new access card.” That is a creation, so asking where the card “drops” fights the wording. You make one.
The walkie-talkie is how separated Explorers describe the room. Both players also need a working microphone, and on PC that microphone has to be PC-compatible. Referral Bonus, 46.3 percent, is the invite: “Invite a friend to play We Were Here Tomorrow.” It is not a gun. Smooth Moves, 81.3 percent, is a crouch slide, useful as a movement check while you confirm which partner is holding the hook. Christmas Riot, 36.1 percent, is a toy you should not show your partner, and Class 1 Hoarder, 0.0 percent, is every unique plushie. Those are collection plates, not tools, and they live on the achievement board.
